This web page lists suppliers providing software.

In addition to the suppliers listed below. The R Foundation provides the very popular R for biomedical researchers. R is extensively used for statistical analysis and modeling (packages MultiVarSel 1.0 and TBoCo 0.0.1) [1], or RNA-seq analysis like DiffBind and ChIPseeker [2]. Other more specialized programs include Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) open source software [3], Noldus software for analyzing animal behaviors like EthoVision XT Version 8 or CatWalk XT 10.6 [4] and mass spec software Mascot Server from Matrix Science and Scaffold from Proteome Software [5]. Labome also discusses some of software programs in detail. Many software programs are provided by researchers themselves. For example, Michael Orthofer et al cited 19 software programs, among which, 13 are attributed to reseachers such as IMPUTE2, 1000 Genomes Phase 3, BOLT-LMM v2.3, biomaRt (Interface to BioMart databases), Seurat (Tools for Single Cell Genomics. v3.1.1), scTransform (Variance Stabilizing Transformations for Single Cell UMI Data. v0.2.0), UpSetR, Plink, SNPTEST, MICE, PhenoScanner, GATES and LDlink [6]. Other popular software include DAVID for Gene Ontology analysis [7].

The list is compiled from a systematic manual survey conducted by Labome covering over 60000 randomly selected publications (read how Labome selects the articles). This list includes suppliers whose products have been cited in at least one publications. Up to five most cited products for each supplier are displayed. Therefore, this list provides a comprehensive representation of high-quality suppliers in this product category. A small number of high-quality suppliers without any citation may also be included; they are not accompanied by any citation data. As the Labome survey is ongoing, this list is updated regularly to reflect the most recent data. Please note: a few companies have been purchased by or merged with other companies, they remain on the list if their brands are maintained by the new entities, such as Life Technologies, Sigma-Aldrich.
