This web page lists suppliers providing consumables. Many companies, including most of the large reagent/instrument companies and quite a few specialized small companies, provide lab consumables such as pipette tips, centrifuge tubes, buffers, and generic chemicals. Fisher Scientific, VWR, and Thomas Scientific are some of the largest distributors of lab consumables. Eppendorf, for example, provides "LoBind" tubes for sample preparation and storage [1] ; Hospira for sterile saline [2] ; Thermo Fisher for magnetic racks [3], Innovive for disposable ventilated cages [4], Corning for culture plates [5] ; Aurora Microplates for plates [6] ; USA Scientific for 8-strip PCR tubes (1402–4700) [7] ; Denville for filter tips (P1096-FR) [7] ; Spherotech for rainbow beads for calibrating flow cytometry runs [8] ; Nepa Gene for Petri dish-type electrodes (CUY701P2) [9] ; GE Healthcare Life Sciences for pH indicator papers [9]. The list is compiled from a systematic manual survey conducted by Labome covering over 60000 randomly selected publications (read how Labome selects the articles). This list includes suppliers whose products have been cited in at least one publications. Up to five most cited products for each supplier are displayed. Therefore, this list provides a comprehensive representation of high-quality suppliers in this product category. A small number of high-quality suppliers without any citation may also be included; they are not accompanied by any citation data. As the Labome survey is ongoing, this list is updated regularly to reflect the most recent data. Please note: a few companies have been purchased by or merged with other companies, they remain on the list if their brands are maintained by the new entities, such as Life Technologies, Sigma-Aldrich.
