This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "Global Ablation of the Mouse Rab11a Gene Impairs Early Embryogenesis and Matrix Metalloproteinase Secretion", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Antibody information

Rabbit polyclonal IgG

Company: US Biological

Antibody: Rab11a

Catalog number: R0009

Summary: Rabbit polyclonal IgG against a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal hypervariable region of the human Rab11a. Reacts with human, mouse, rat, rabbit, and canine. Suitable for western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry, electron microscopy, flow cytometry and ELISA.

Validation Method

Western blot | Immunocytochemistry

Sample

WB: Control Rab11afl/fl and Rab11anull MEFs. ICC: wild-type and Rab11anull blastocysts developed in vitro. Blastocysts were fixed in cold 4% paraformaldehyde.

Primary incubation

ICC: 1:200 dilution in blocking buffer overnight at 4 °C.

Secondary incubation

ICC: Fluorescently conjugated secondary antibodies for 2 h.

Detection

ICC: Zeiss 510 laser-scanning confocal microscope.

Figure

Please see Figure 2a,e in the article [1].

KO validation by western blot is not specified in the article. The authors, when contacted, kindly indicate that the US biological antibody was used for the Western blot assays.
Disclaimer

If the antibody described in this summary is a polyclonal antibody, since polyclonal antibodies are of limited quantity, please inquire the supplier whether any current polyclonal antibody with the same catalog number is exactly the same as the one described in this summary. Sometimes, different bleeds or different animals are used, usually with a different lot number. In such cases, the result in this summary may not apply to the new antibody with the same catalog number.
