This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "Nogo-A couples with Apg-1 through interaction and co-ordinate expression under hypoxic and oxidative stress", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Nogo-A antibody | knockout validation | Invitrogen 366600 figure 1
Figure 1. Hippocampal neurons from wild-type and Nogo−/− mice were cultured for 20 days in vitro before being fixed and stained for Nogo-A and Apg-1. Single-plane confocal analyses illustrate the subcellular localization of these two proteins in the wild-type and of Apg-1 in the Nogo-knockout. Scale bar, 10 μm. From [1].
Antibody information

Rabbit polyclonal IgG

Company: Invitrogen

Antibody: Nogo-A

Catalog number: 366600

Summary: Rabbit polyclonal IgG against a synthetic peptide derived from the internal region of rat Nogo-A, which differs from the human sequence by only one amino acid. Suitable for the detection of rat protein by western blot and immunoprecipitation.

Validation Method

Immunocytochemistry

Sample

Cultured hippocampal neurons from wild-type and Nogo−/− mice.

Blocking agent

3% natural goat serum, 1% BSA and 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS for 1 h.

Primary incubation

1:2,000 dilution overnight at 4°C.

Secondary incubation

Secondary antibodies were from Invitrogen/Molecular Probes (anti-rabbit; conjugated to Alexa Fluor® dyes).

Detection

Images were made with an Axio Imager.M2 microscope (Zeiss) using Plan-Apochromat 63×/1.4 Oil and Plan-Neofluar 40×/1.30 oil objectives.

Disclaimer

If the antibody described in this summary is a polyclonal antibody, since polyclonal antibodies are of limited quantity, please inquire the supplier whether any current polyclonal antibody with the same catalog number is exactly the same as the one described in this summary. Sometimes, different bleeds or different animals are used, usually with a different lot number. In such cases, the result in this summary may not apply to the new antibody with the same catalog number.
