This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "MMP-2 is localized to the mitochondria-associated membrane of the heart", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Antibody information

Mouse monoclonal IgG1κ

Company: Millipore

Antibody: MMP-2

Catalog number: MAB3308

Summary: Mouse monoclonal IgG1κ against a synthetic oligopeptide corresponding to amino acid residue 468-483 of human MMP-2. Reacts with human, mouse, rat, bovine, horse, pig and rabbit. Suitable for western blot, immunohistochemistry (paraffin) and ELISA.

Validation Method

Immunohistochemistry

Sample

IHC: heart sections from MMP-2 WT and KO mice. Tissues were fixed in 0.1% glutaraldehyde, 4% paraformaldehyde, and 4% sucrose in 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) overnight at 4°C.

Primary incubation

IHC: 1:10,000 overnight at 4°C.

Secondary incubation

IHC: Colloidal gold (18 nm)-conjugated, donkey anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies were used at a 1:10 dilution for 90 min at room temperature.
