Huntingtin antibody | knockout validation | Millipore MAB2166

This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "Ablation of huntingtin in adult neurons is nondeleterious but its depletion in young mice causes acute pancreatitis", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Antibody information

Mouse monoclonal IgG1κ

Company: Millipore

Antibody: Mouse monoclonal IgG1κ

Catalog number: MAB2166

Summary: Mouse monoclonal IgG1κ against a fusion protein fragment of huntingtin (a.a. 181-810). Reacts with human, mouse, rat, monkey, hamster, and rabbit. Suitable for western blot, immunohistochemistry (paraffin), immunocytochemistry, immunoprecipitation and ELISA.

Validation Method

Western blot

Sample

Different brain region samples were homogenized in the Nonidet P-40 buffer (50 mM Tris pH 7.4, 50 mM NaCl, 0.1% Triton X-100, 1% Nonidet P-40) or RIPA buffer (50 mM Tris, pH 8.0, 150 mM NaCl, 1 mM EDTA, 1 mM EGTA, pH 8.0, 0.1% SDS, 0.5% DOC, and 1% Triton X-100) with 1× protease inhibitor (Sigma, P8340)

Detection

SuperSignal West Femto Maximum Sensitivity Substrate (34095) or Amersham ECL Prime Western Blotting Detection Reagent (RPN2232).
