This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "Cleavage of β-dystroglycan occurs in sarcoglycan-deficient skeletal muscle without MMP-2 and MMP-9", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).
Mouse monoclonal IgG2b, kappa
Company: Leica Biosystems
Antibody: Gamma-Sarcoglycan
Catalog number: NCL-g-SARC
Summary: Mouse monoclonal IgG2b, kappa against a synthetic peptide containing amino acids 167–178 of the rabbit gamma-sarcoglycan. Reacts with human and mouse. Suitable for immunohistochemistry (frozen) and immunoblotting.
Western blot
Skeletal muscle from WT, g-SG-KO and MMP-2/MMP-9/g-SG triple KO mice. Tissues were homogenized in 10 vol (w/v) of a phosphate buffer containing 20 mM sodium pyrophosphate, 20 mM sodium phosphate, 1 mM MgCl2, 0.3 mM sucrose, 0.5 mM EDTA, 0.83 mM benzamidine, and 0.2 mM phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride.
5% milk in a TBST buffer containing 20 mM TrisHCl, pH7.4, 138 mM NaCl with 0.1% Tween 20.
Overnight at 4 C.
ECL Western Lightening R Ultra (NEL112001EA, PerkinElmer, Waltham, MA, USA).
Immunoblot analysis of the a, b and g-sarcoglycan (DG) proteins in muscle homogenates from 24-week-old mice with the indicated genotypes. Please see Figure 1a in the article [1].
