Beta1-spectrin antibody | knockout validation | Neuromab 73-374

This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "Nodal β spectrins are required to maintain Na+ channel clustering and axon integrity", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Antibody information

Mouse monoclonal IgG2

Company: Neuromab

Antibody: Beta1-spectrin

Catalog number: 73-374

Summary: Mouse monoclonal IgG2b against a fusion protein amino acids 1555-2137 (C-terminal repeats 13 to 17) of human Beta1-spectrin. Reacts with human, rat and mouse. Suitable for immunoblot, immunocytochemistry and

immunohistochemistry.

Validation Method

Western blot

Sample

Control and Sptb-KO mouse brains. Whole mouse brains were homogenized in homogenization buffer (0.32M sucrose, 5 mM Na3PO4, 1 mM NaF, 0.5 mM PMSF, 1 mM Na3VO4 and protease inhibitor) on ice.

Secondary incubation

Secondary antibodies (Thermo Fisher Scientific and Jackson ImmunoResearch Laboratories).

Clone note

The same clone (N385/21) is sold as BioLegend 856901, 856902, 856903, 856904; Neuromab 75-374, 73-374.
