Aquaporin 1/AQP1 antibody | knockout validation | Santa Cruz sc-25287

This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "Aquaporin 1 affects pregnancy outcome and regulates aquaporin 8 and 9 expressions in the placenta", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Aquaporin 1/AQP1 antibody | knockout validation | Santa Cruz sc-25287 figure 1
Figure 1. AQP1 knockout mice exhibit a decrease of AQP9 protein in placenta and foetal membrane and an increase of AQP8 protein in foetal membrane. Expression of AQP1, AQP3, AQP8 and AQP9 proteins was measured by western blotting in placenta at 13.5 gestational days. From [1].
Antibody information

Mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ

Company: Santa Cruz

Antibody: Aquaporin 1/AQP1

Catalog number: sc-25287

Summary: Mouse monoclonal antibody against amino acids 215-269 of human AQP1. Recommended for detection of AQP1 of mouse, rat and human origin by western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry (paraffin) and ELISA.

Validation Method

Western blot

Sample

Control and AQP1-KO mouse placenta and foetal membrane.

Blocking agent

5% skimmed milk in Tris-buffered saline with 0.1% Tween-20 (TBS-T, pH 7.4) at room temperature for 2 h.

Primary incubation

1:1,000 dilution at 4 °C overnight.

Secondary incubation

1:5,000 dilution horseradish-peroxidase-conjugated secondary antibody (Biosharp, China) for 2 h at room temperature.

Detection
