Androgen Receptor antibody | knockout validation | Abcam ab133273

This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publication "Dissociation of disease onset, progression and sex differences from androgen receptor levels in a mouse model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis", as cited below [1]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Antibody information

Rabbit monoclonal IgG

Company: Abcam

Antibody: Androgen Receptor

Catalog number: ab133273

Summary: Rabbit monoclonal antibody against a synthetic peptide within human Androgen Receptor (aa 1-100; N terminal). Reacts with mouse, rat, and human. Suitable for western blot, immunohistochemistry (paraffin) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence.

Validation Method

Immunohistochemistry

Sample

Control and AR-KO mice spinal cord tissues.

Blocking agent

15 min in 0.5% hydrogen peroxide in PBS and 1 h at room temperature in animal-free blocking reagent (Cell Signaling Technology, Cat# 15019).

Primary incubation

1:200 dilution in SignalStain antibody diluent (Cell Signaling Technology, Cat# 8112) at 4 °C for 48 h.

Secondary incubation

SignalStain Boost IHC Detection Reagent (HRP, rabbit) (Cell Signaling Technology, Cat# 8114).

Detection

DAB colorimetric reaction performed using SignalStain DAB Substrate Kit (Cell Signaling Technology, Cat# 8059). Images were acquired on a Leica DMLB2 microscope.
