This is a knockout-validated antibody summary, based on the publications "Potential implications of Apolipoprotein E in early brain injury after experimental subarachnoid hemorrhage: Involvement in the modulation of blood-brain barrier integrity", as cited below [1] and "Inhibition of Lung Tumor Development in ApoE Knockout Mice via Enhancement of TREM-1 Dependent NK Cell Cytotoxicity" for western blot (figure 3d) and immunohistochemistry (figure 1c) [2]. Labome curates formal publications to compile a list of antibodies with unambiguous specificity within Validated Antibody Database (VAD).

Mouse monoclonal IgG1
Company: Abcam
Antibody: APOE
Catalog number: ab1907
Summary: Mouse monoclonal IgG1 against a synthetic peptide spanning the polymorphic amino acid position 158 of ApoE. Reacts with mouse and human. Suitable for western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence and ELISA.

Brains from WT and ApoE-knockout mice. WB: tissues were lysed in RIPA Lysis Buffer with a protease inhibitor cocktail (05892791001; Roche, Basel, Switzerland) and homogenized at 4°C until lysis was complete. IHC: mice were perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde (PFA), the whole brains were harvested and coronary frozen sections were made.
WB: 5% bovine serum albumin at room temperature for 1 h.
WB: At 4°C overnight.
WB: for 1 h.
IHC: DyLight 594 AffiniPure Goat Anti-Mouse IgG (A23410, Abbkine).
WB: ECL Western Blotting kit (32209; Thermo Scientific, Waltham, MA) and chemiluminescence imaging system (ChemiDoc XRS+; Bio-Rad, Hercules, CA).
