Biological Activity: Mouse p28 biological activity was measured via dose-dependent inhibition of TGFß and IL-6-induced IL-17A expression in mouse CD4 splenocytes. 50ng/ml of Mouse p28 is capable of inhibiting >25% of IL-17A expression in this assay. no acceptance criteria limits established. Store vial at 4° C prior to restoration. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Maintain sterility. This product DOES NOT contain preservative. DO NOT VORTEX. We recommend adding a carrier protein such as HSA or BSA to 0.1% (i.e. 1.0 mg/mL) . For best results aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or colder. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge vial before each opening to dislodge contents from the cap and to clarify if contents are not clear after standing at room temperature.

Background :
Mouse IL-27/p28 Subunit, also known as Interleukin-30, is a member of the IL-12 family of cytokines. When combined with EBI3 (Epstein-Barr virus induced gene 3), the heterodimer formed is IL-27. Mouse p28 is a proinflammatory cytokine inducing immunomodulatory effects. Current research is underway to delineate specific biological functions. Recombinant mouse p28 is a single-chain 207 amino acid peptide with a mass of approximately 23,697 Daltons.
