specificity :
This item recognises glycogen synthase 3 (GSK3) beta phosphorylated at serine 9. This is a 46 kDa member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family. Two isforms of GSK3 exist, alpha and beta. GSK3 beta is expressed in the testis, thymus, prostate, and ovary as well as being expressed at low levels in lung, brain and kidney tissue. GSK3 beta is involved in many signalling pathways including energy metabolism, body pattern formation and microtubule growth and stability (which aids axon growth). GSK3 beta is also thought to be involved in oncogenesis and the hormonal control of several regulatory proteins including glycogen synthase. Phosphorylation of serine-9 inhibits GSK3 beta function.
form :
Purified. Purified IgG - liquid
storage stability :
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 12 months from date of despatch.
tested application :
Western Blot (WB)*
app notes :
Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 46kDa in rat cortex cell lysates. Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/1000; Application Note: Special conditions apply. See *
other info1 :
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3). 50% Glycerol. 0.01% Bovine Serum Albumin
other info2 :
Immunogen: Phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid sequence surrounding phoshorylated seine 9 of rat GSK3 beta. Buffer Solution: 10mM Hepes pH7.5. Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to rat GSK3 beta (pSer9) were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbit with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography. Target Species: Rat
