Specificity :
Recognizes human signal transducer and activator of transcription 6, also known as STAT6 or IL-4 STAT. STAT6 is a 846 amino acid ~100 kD, latent cytosolic transcription factor which becomes activated following phosphorylation by JAK1 and JAK3, in response to IL-4 and IL-13. Upon activation, STAT6 proteins form homodimers which translocate to the nucleus. STAT6 is critical for the expression of many IL-4 and IL-13 responsive genes, including class II major histocompatibility molecules, CD23 and IL-1Ra. It also plays an important role in Th2 differentiation, IgE class switching and inflammation. Binding ofcan be blocked by the control peptide BLP076.
