Background :
The human multidrug-resistance protein (MRP) gene family is composed of multiple members such as: MRP 1, MRP 2 or cMOAT, and four other homologous genes, called MRP 3, MRP 4, MRP 5, and MRP 6. Among them, the substrate range of MRP 6 has not been fully determined and the expression pattern of MRP 6 has only been studied at the mRNA level. Mutations in the MRP 6 gene are responsible for the connective tissue disorder Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE). Human MRP 6 is a 190 - 200 kDa transmembrane protein that is related to the family of Multidrug Resistance related Proteins (MRP).
Immunogen :
Bacterial fusion protein of human MRP 6, containing amino acids 764-964, spanning the putative 12th transmembrane region as well as predicted internal and external regions of the protein.
Specificity :
This antibody detects with MRP 6. This antibody does not cross-react with MDR 1,MRP 1, MRP 2 or MRP 3, MRP 4 & MRP 5.
