ELISA IP
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets :
Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis

Mycobacterium avium
Relevance :
Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) is the causative agent for Johne’s disease, a highly-infectious wasting disease that affects a range of domestic ruminants including cattle, sheep, goats and deer. Anti-Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis [6G11] has a high degree of specificity and has been demonstrated to work by ELISA and for immunocapture.
Host :
Mouse
Immunogen :
Gamma-irradiated whole MAP strain B4 cells
Subclass :
IgM
Positive Control :
Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis whole cells
Myeloma Used :
Sp2/0-Ag14
Recommended Growing Conditions :
DMEM containing 10% (v/v) fetal bovine serum and 5% (v/v) penicillin/streptomycin
Strain :
Balb/c
Research Area :
Bacteriology
Notes :
Direct and competitive ELISA Specificity of immunocapture was evaluated in O'Brien et al., 2016. The study assayed three non-target Mycobacterium spp. (M. avium subsp. avium, M. bovis BCG and M. terrae). Beads coated with 6G11, the bead combination MAb 6G11 and 15D10 (50:50 mix), and dually-coated MAb 6G11 and 54.3.1AA beads demonstrated a low percentage of non-specific capture (ranging from 0.75–15% capture, with M. bovis BCG giving the highest percentage capture for all bead types).
