Thy-1 is a cell surface glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of proteins. It is involved in cell adhesion and cell communication in numerous cell types, but particularly in cells of the immune and nervous systems. Thy-1 is widely used as a marker for hematopoietic stem cells. It may also function as a tumour suppressor in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Clone YTS 154.7.7.10 has been used in T+NK cell depletion in vivo and flow cytometry studies.
