Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets :
Histone H3 (Phospho-Ser10)
Relevance :
The monoclonal anti-Phospho Histone H3 (Ser10), Mitosis Marker, clone 3HH3-4C8, is specific for phosphorylated (Ser10) histone H3. Clone H3-4C8 detected phosphorylated Histone H3 at Ser10 which is correlated with mitosis. Histone H3 is one of the five main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N-terminal tail, H3 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure. Histone H3 is the most extensively modified of the five histones and is an important protein in the emerging field of epigenetics, where its sequence variants and variable modification states are thought to play a role in the dynamic and long term regulation of genes. Phosphorylation at Ser10, Ser28, and Thr11 of histone H3 is tightly correlated with chromosome condensation during both mitosis and meiosis.
