FXR1P

Human, Mouse and Xenopus laevis
Relevance :
The Monoclonal anti?FXR1P (encoded by FXR1 gene, FMRP homologue) antibody, clone 3FX 2B12, recognises FXR1 (Fragile X related 1) protein from human, mouse, Xenopus laevis (expected also in chicken).Detects all 7 isoforms (from70 to 84 kDa, including muscle specific isoforms of 82 and 84 kDa). Slightly cross reacts to FXR2P (at 94 kDa in WB), but this appears undetectable by immunohistochemistry in FXR1 KO mouse. The FXR1 protein is an RNA binding protein that interacts with the its two functional homologs proteins FMR1 (X-linked) and FXR2. FMRP, FXR1 and FXR2, are polyribosome-associated RNA-binding proteins that are involved in the pathogenesis of fragile X syndrome.Fragile X syndrome is a genetic disorder characterized by a spectrum of physical and behavioral features and is a frequent form of inherited mental retardation. Each of the fragile X proteins can self-associate, as well as form heteromers with the other two related proteins.
Host :
Mouse
Immunogen :
LKDPDSNPYSLLDNTESDQT?(C) a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 469 to 488 of FXR1 coupled to ovalbumin. (numbering depends on isoform). This peptide sequence is totally conserved (100% identity) in mouse, dog, rat, bovine, chicken, frog (Xenopus laevis and tropicalis), and 90% identical in zebra fish (Dario rerio).
