The Monoclonal Anti?Human Estrogen Receptor a (B10) does not react with chicken, and other reactivities have not been tested. Estrogen receptors are activated by the hormone estrogen (17?-estradiol). Once activated by estrogen, the ER is able to translocate into the nucleus and acts as a a DNA-binding transcription factor. ERa and ERb regulate gene transcription by direct binding to estrogen-regulated elements (ERE) or indirectly by protein-protein interaction with transcription factor activator protein-1 (AP-1) and Sp1. Estrogens are important for mammary gland morphogenesis and differentiation.
