The monoclonal anti-EMI-2 antibody, clone 2EMI-2A10, has been validated for ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. The Endogenous meiotic inhibitor 2 is also known as F-box only protein 43 (Fbxo43). It is required to establish and maintain the arrest of oocytes at the second meiotic metaphase until fertilization. It appears to act by inhibiting the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) ubiquitin ligase. EMI-2 probably recognizes and binds to some phosphorylated proteins and promotes their ubiquitination and degradation.
