The Anti-Ataxin-7, clone 3SCA-1C1 Antibody has been validated for ELISA, Western Blot (endogenous and recombinant proteins) and Immunofluorescence. Ataxin-7 is a protein of unknown function but it is believed to be a transcription factor due to its nuclear localisation. Ataxin 7 is associated with both olivopontocerebellar atrophy type 3 (OPCA3) and spinocerebellar ataxia type 7 (SCA7), one of a group of hereditary neurodegenrative diseases caused by an expanded CAG repeat in the Ataxin-7 gene.
