TADA2A (transcriptional adaptor 2A) is a subunit of the ADA2A-containing (ATAC) histone acetyltransferase complex; this complex acts on histones H3 and H4 and is required for the function of some acidic activation domains, which activate transcription from a distant site (By similarity). TADA2A binds double-stranded DNA and dinucleosomes, probably at the linker region between neighboring nucleosomes. It has been shown to play a role in chromatin remodeling.
