Synaptophysin is a glycoprotein located in the membrane of synaptic vesicles that is ubiquitously expressed in all neurons. It is widely used as a marker for nerve terminals and for differentiating neuroendocrine tumors.This antibody has been used to detect the following neuronal and adrenal tumors: pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, neuroblastomas, ganglioneuroblastomas; neuroendocrine tumors of epithelial origin; pancreatic islet cell carcinoma, bronchial and gastrointestinal carcinoids and medullary carcinoma of the thyroid. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O or PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
