When activated by Janus kinases Stat6 is transported to the nucleus where it regulates cytokineinduced gene expression. Required for responsiveness to IL-4 and IL-13 (1,2), Stat6 is activated via phosphorylation at tyrosine 641 (3,4). In addition to its role in mediating IL-4 responses, Stat6 is activated in B cell lines by IFN-alpha, where it forms transcriptionally active complexes with Stat2 and p48 protein (5,6). Protein phosphatase 2A is also involved in regulation of IL-4-mediated Stat6 signaling (7). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
