PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome ten) phosphatase is a tumor suppressor gene implicated in a wide variety of human cancers. PTEN encodes the 403 amino acid polypeptide originally described as a dual-specificity protein phosphatase. The main substrates of PTEN are inositol phospholipids generated by the activation of the phosphoinositide 3 kinase (PI3K). PTEN is a major negative regulator of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 10-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
