PKC (Protein kinase C) is a calcium-dependent and phospholipid-dependent enzyme that is activated in vivo by the lipid diacylglycerol. PKC has been shown to be involved in signal transduction and various aspects of neoplastic transformation. PKC contains an amino terminal regulatory domain and a carboxy terminal catalytic domain joined by a hinge region. Cleavage of protein kinase C in vitro results in the generation of two functional fragments corresponding to these two domains. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
