Progesterone is a steroid hormone secreted by luteinized theca cells of normal ovary. The determination of progesterone concentrations in the body ﬂuids is of great value for endocrinological investigations in women. May also prove useful in identiﬁcation of ovarian tumors. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and RIA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Luteinized theca cells of normal ovary and T47D cells. Source: Ascites Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
