Protein phosphorylation is a complex biochemical process that is regulated by protein kinases that catalyze the transfer of the gamma-P of ATP to a recipient protein that acts as a substrate. This post-translational modification is primarily directed onto serine, threonine, and tyrosine amino acid residues within a protein. Changes in the phosphorylation status of phosphoproteins can alter their biological function, and aberrations in signal transduction cascades have been linked to a number of diseases, including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, inflammation and neurological disorders. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:250 ELISA: 1:1,000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 Immunoprecipitation: 10ug/500ug sample Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
