Desc1 :

Phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of cellular proteins are central steps in transducing extracellular signals to the cell nucleus. Phosphorylated epitopes may serve as docking sites for the assembly of protein complexes or may alter the 3-dimensional protein structure thus modulating enzymatic activity or the ability to undergo protein-protein-interactions. Modification of proteins on serine residues is mediated by serine/threonine kinases. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: 1-10ug per 10e6 pervanadate-treated A431 cells Western Blot: 1ug/ml with HRP/ECL detection. BSA/Tween 20 based blocking buffer. Do not use milk/casein for blocking and dilution! Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control Included: Yes Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
