Phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of intracellular proteins occurs in response to extracellular signals. In certain disease states such as cancer, abnormal protein phosphorylation can occur. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:1000-1:2000 Western Blot: For the detection of phosphoproteins, serine phosphatase inhibitors like 10mM sodium fluoride should be added to the sample buffer. Milk or other casein-based blocking solutions are not recommended as casein is a phosphoprotein and its use can result in high background. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
