PDK2 belongs to the PDK/BCKDK protein kinase subfamily. PDK2 contributes to the regulation of glucose metabolism by inhibiting the mitochondrial pyruvate dehyrogenase complex by phosphorylating the E1 alpha subunit. PDK2 corresponds to a possibly free or soluble form of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase that was originally named kinase activator protein. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
