Ovalbumin (OA) is from chicken egg white, in which it makes up about 60% of solids. OA is a globular monomer of molecular mass 45kD (1). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunoprecipitation. Not suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Culture Medium: RPMI 1640 with 10% fetal calf serum. Hybridoma: X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity :

Recognizes native chicken ovalbumin. Crossreactivity with egg albumin from other species has not been tested. Epitope specificity differs from that of clones 6F157 and 8C6 as determined by inhibition ELISA. Shows high affinity for OA in its native form, but does not recognize denatured OA.
