Desc1 :

Notch1 is a transmembrane protein functioning in development and the determination of cell-fate (1). During maturation, the notch molecule is cleaved by a furin-like convertase at its extracellular domain (2). Upon binding to a ligand such as Delta1, or upon extracellular calcium depletion, the carboxy-terminal notch1 fragment is released and further cleaved between Gly1743 and Val1744 (3,4). The resulting activated cytosolic fragment translocates to the nucleus where it activates transcription. Mutation in Notch2 is associated with Alagille syndrome (5). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
