Desc1 :

Legionella pneumophila is the causative agent of the Legionnaires' disease, a potential fatal pneumonia. It was isolated after an outbreak of pneumonia at an American legion convention in Philadelphia. The strain Philadelphia 1 is derived from the original 1976 isolate. Legionella pneumophila is found in biofilms and fresh and industrial water systems worldwide. It can survive and replicate intracellularly in free-living protozoa, often in aquatic biofilms. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded sections Immunofluorescence: 1:20 in PBS. Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at 4°C. Do not freeze. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at 4°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
