CD4 is a 55kD cell surface glycoprotein that is primarily expressed on a subpopulation of T lymphocytes, on peripheral blood monocytes and on tissue macrophages. Epitope mapping studies have shown that antibodies, produced by this clone, recognize an epitope within domain 1 of the extracellular region of the CD4 molecule. Has been reported to block gp120-CD4 interaction and inhibit syncytium formation Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Functional Assays, and Immunohistochemistry (frozen). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:200-1:2,000, the epitope recognized is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. Use acetone fixation for frozen sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended IHC Positive Control Tissue: Human lymphatic tissue Hybridoma: NS1 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
