Caspase-9 is one of the most important caspases among the caspase family members. Caspase-9 is synthesized as inactive pro-enzyme that is processed in cells undergoing apoptosis. The processed caspase-9 consists of large (32-35kD) and small (10kD) subunits which associate to form an active enzyme. Activated caspase-9 in turn cleaves and activates caspase-3, one of the proteases responsible for the proteolytic cleavage of many key proteins in apoptosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-4ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
