Caspase 3 is one of the key executioners of apoptosis, being responsible either partially or totally for the proteolytic cleavage of many key proteins such as the nuclear enzyme poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Activation of caspase-3 requires proteolytic processing of its inactive zymogen into activated p17 and p12 subunits. Cleavage of caspase-3 requires aspartic acid at the P1 position. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
