Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type II delta (CaMKIId) belongs to a family of multifunctional serine/threonine kinases activated in response to increases in intracellular calcium. There are 4 CaMKII isozymes, alpha, beta, gamma, and delta, and each can yield several isoforms through alternative splicing. CaMKII isoforms assemble into homo- or heteromultimeric holoenzymes composed of 8 to 12 subunits. CaMKIId expression is ubiquitous and has been identified as the predominant CaMKII isozyme in the heart, where it is implicated in the development of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using Human heart, liver and kidney tissue. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo Hybridoma: Mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, E. coli-derived recombinant human CaMKIId Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
