Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. It is useful for cell cycle kinetic studies in normal tissue or cells and solid tumors. BrdU can be incorporated into newly synthesized strand of DNA of S-phase cell in vivo and in vitro. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: (staining S-phase cells containing BrdU incorporated DNA) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specificity :

Reacts with BrdU that is used to label S-phase cells and will crossreact with iododeoxyuridine (IodU).
