BrdU is a thymidine analog, incorporated into cell nuclei during DNA synthesis prior to mitosis. Antibody to BrdU is helpful in detecting S-phase cells, providing useful information on the aggressiveness of tumors. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:25-1:200. Use 20ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:25-1:200 Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Recommended Secondary Reagents: I1904-49H IgG, F(ab’)2, H&L X-Adsorbed (HRP) RbxRt I1904-49U IgG, F(ab’)2, H&L X-Adsorbed (FITC) RbxRt Recommended Negative Controls: I1904-83M1: IgG2a, Rat Negative Control Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen :
Bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU)
Specificity :
Recognizes BrdU incorporated into single stranded DNA, attached to a protein carrier and free BrdU. Does not crossreact with thymidine but does react weakly with chlorodeoxyuridine.
Purity :
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Form :
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.09% sodium azide.
Concentration :
~1mg/ml
