Bak is a homolog of apoptosis inhibitor Bcl-2. Bak is a member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins and contains Bcl-2 homology region (BH-) 1, 2 and 3. Unlike Bcl-2, Bak promotes cell death and counteracts the anti-apoptotic effect of Bcl-2. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-4ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
