Desc1 :
This antibody recognizes a glycoprotein of 110kD, which is identified as CD68. It is important for identifying macrophages in tissue sections. It stains macrophages in a wide variety of human tissues, including Kupffer cells and macrophages in the red pulp of the spleen, in lamina propria of the gut, in lung alveoli, and in bone marrow. It reacts with myeloid precursors and peripheral blood granulocytes. It also reacts with plasmacytoid T cells, which are supposed to be of monocyte/macrophage origin. It shows strong granular cytoplasmic staining of chronic and acute myeloid leukemia and also reacts with rare cases of true histiocytic neoplasia. Lymphomas are negative or show few granules. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 5-10ul/10e6 cells Immunofluorescence: 1:50-1:100 Western Blot: 1:100-1:200 Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:100-1:200/30min @ RT Immunoprecipitation: 5-10ul/500ug protein lysate Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Tonsil, Lymph Node or Spleen Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
