CES2 is a member of the carboxylesterase large family. The family members are responsible for the hydrolysis or transesterification of various xenobiotics, such as cocaine and heroin, and endogenous substrates with ester, thioester, or amide bonds. They may participate in fatty acyl and cholesterol ester metabolism, and may play a role in the blood-brain barrier system. The protein encoded by this gene is the major intestinal enzyme and functions in intestine drug clearance. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100 1:10-50 Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.

Immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human hepatocarcinoma using 033793 followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of 033793 for immunohistochemistry.

Flow Cytometric overlay histogram showing U-87 MG cells stained with 033793 (green line). The cells were fixed with 2% paraformaldehyde (10 min) and then permeabilized with 90% methanol for 10 min. The cells were then icubated in 2% BSA to block non-specific protein-protein interactions followed by033793 (1:25) for 60 min at 37oC. The secondary antibody used was Alexa Fluor® 488 goat anti-rabbit lgG (H+L) at 1:400 dilution for 40 min at 37oC. Isotype control antibody (blue line) was rabbit IgG1 (1ug/1x10e6 cells) used under the same conditions. Acquisition of >10, 000 events was performed.
