Autophagy is a process of bulk protein degradation in which cytoplasmic components, including organelles, are enclosed in double-membrane structures called autophagosomes and delivered to lysosomes or vacuoles for degradation. ATG12 is the human homolog of a yeast protein involved in autophagy (Mizushima et al., 1998 [PubMed 9852036]). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA. Recommended Dilution: ELISA : 1:10000 Western Blot: 1:200~2000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50~200 Immunofluorescenc: 1:10~50 Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C with the addition of glycerol. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Do not freeze alkaline phosphatase conjugates which could result in a substantial loss of enzymatic activity. Light sensitive. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.

Atg12 antibody tested in HEK cells. Fixed in PFA permeablilized with 0.2% Saponin. Blocked and antibodies in 10% goat serum. Secondary was mouse 555. The right is in full medium (FM) and the left with EBSS (no leupeptin)(Provided by Nicole McKnight & Sharon Tooze).
