TGF-b (transforming growth factor-beta) is a family of multifunctional proteins. TGF-b was originally identified for its ability to induce the growth of normal rodent fibroblast in soft agar. It is now known that TGF-b is a potent growth inhibitor of many normal and transformed cell lines. It regulates normal cell growth, development and tissue remodeling following injury. TGF-b is produced as latent high molecular weight complexes. The activation of latent TGF-b is an important step in the regulation of its action. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-4ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 10-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
