Sox genes encode for transcriptional regulators that are involved in the early embryonic develpoment and in the determination of cell fate. Sox2 is also known as SRY (sex determining region Y)-box2, contain genes that encode for the HMG-box domain that is responsible for DNA binding activity. Mutation of Sox2 genes is link to optic nerve hypoplasia and anophthalmia, a severe form of eye deformity. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
