details of functionality :

IND 1316 is an activator of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). In vitro , it activates AMPK in a dose-dependent manner and induces different MAPK pathways (p38 and JNK). In vivo , it reduces the neuropathological symptoms in two animal models of Huntington s Disease (nematodes and mice). It shows very low toxicity even at high concentrations ( 200 M). This compound is orally bioavailable.
