Opicapone is a reversible catechol O -methyltransferase inhibitor (COMT) inhibitor (IC50 = 224 nM). Decreases the ATP content and mitochondrial membrane potential in cells (IC50 values are 98 M and 181 M respectively). When administered with L-DOPA (Cat. No. 3788) it attenuates Parkinson s-like symptoms in an MPTP-induced animal model.
