UNC 2881 is a potent Mer kinase inhibitor. Displays 55-fold selectivity for Mer kinase over other TAM receptor tyrosine kinase family members (IC50 values are 4.3 nM, 0.25 M and 0.36 M for Mer, Tyro3 and Alk, respectively). Inhibits Mer phosphorylation in vitro . Also inhibits platelet aggregation in response to Type I collagen.
